Using Supporters Direct Scotland’s newly launched crowdfunding platform ‘Build A Winning Club’, fans have come together to help raise funds to help the very worthy SAFA meet the costs associated with hosting an international tournament – from venue hire, player accommodation, officials’ fees and travel costs to family entertainment and strips. Funds raised during this campaign will also go towards the charity’s newly launched #LegOffGameOn Amputee Football Roadshow, a nationwide development programme aimed at delivering amputee football taster sessions at clubs across Scotland to encourage uptake in the discipline.
Raising the funds have been made possible through Supporters Direct’s ‘Build A Winning Club’ platfrom which enables communities to raise capital for projects around their clubs, which could include ownership. This applies to all levels of sport in Scotland from professional clubs to grassroots community clubs.
Andrew Jenkin, Head of Supporters Direct Scotland comments:
“We’re delighted to have supported the Scottish Amputee Football Association with this campaign. It’s great to see supporters of all clubs come together for a common good project such as this. We feel it demonstrates the extensive value supporters bring to all strands of Scottish football and that together there is much more that unites us than divides us.”
“We hope this platform will enable us to support more and more clubs and organisations in achieving their ambitions, whether that be ownership of a club, development of an asset or simply coming together to raise much needed funds for valuable programmes. We’d encourage any club seeking to undertake a crowdfunding campaign to get in touch to find out how we can support them through our platform”.
