Hosted by Supporters Direct Scotland
Date: 20th February 2015
The Scottish Fairtrade Forum and Balasport are hosting a football tournament during Fairtrade week, an event being organised by MSP Neil Bibby.
The aim of the tournament is to raise awareness of the Fairtrade movement, which was set up to ensure the people who produce the products that we buy in shops and supermarkets are paid a proper wage. It is estimated that around 70% of the world’s footballs are hand-stitched by child labour in one town in Pakistan.
The tournament will take place in Paisley on Sunday, 8th March with the support of Five on 5, who will be providing the pitches free of charge.
