Raith Rovers to sell tickets directly to fans for Rangers match

Raith Rovers have taken the decision to sell away fan tickets for their upcoming fixture with Rangers directly to the supporters; normal protocol would see the tickets given to the opposition team, for them to distribute to the fans. However, Raith have decided to take responsibility for distribution themselves.

The club are believed to harbour concerns over the financial situation at Rangers and any effect it may have on payment of money to the club from ticket sales.

Raith give a maximum allocation of 3800 tickets to away fans for a match, roughly equating to over £50,000 in income.

Raith Rovers chief executive Eric Drysdale told BBC Scotland: “There is ongoing dialogue between ourselves and Rangers on this matter, but at the moment there is nothing further to say.”
