The Scottish Professional Footballers’ Association has launched a video raising awareness of mental health in football.
‘Mind Games’ has been created in partnership with SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) and “see me” is aimed at raising awareness of the subject of mental health issues in football, and across wider society along with continuing to reduce the stigma attached to admission of any difficulties.
It is also hoped that the production of the film will help towards the creation of an improved support structure for footballers should they require support for any mental health related issues.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon is featured in the film, alongside Iain Russell, Robbie Neilson and Ian Murray, who share their experiences and opinions of mental health issues in football.
