Pars Supporters Trust launch Memorial Fund for Margaret Ross

Date: 21st February 2017

Following the untimely death of Margaret Ross, the Pars Supporters Trust Board wanted to ensure that Margaret’s contribution to the Pars cause would live on, and so in January 2017, the Margaret Ross Memorial Fund was created, as a lasting tribute to Margaret.

The aim of the Fund is to make an annual contribution to individuals or projects within the Under 20 or youth team set up at East End Park.

At the launch of the Memorial Fund on 1st February 2017, Drew Main from the PST said “Whilst Margaret immersed herself in so many groups and projects within the Pars family, she always had a soft spot for the welfare of our U20 players or youngsters who are making their way through the youth system. Our intention is to ring-fence money from a couple of fund raising events throughout the year specifically for the Memorial Fund which we will then use for the benefit of our younger players, the idea being that we can provide funds in this way on an annual basis in Margaret’s memory”.

At SD Scotland, we know Margaret gave so much to both the club and Trust hence why we wanted to give something back by making a donation to the Margaret Ross Memorial Trust by the auctioning of a Dunfermline shirt from the 2012-2013 season, the time at which Margaret and the Supporters Trust was instrumental in securing the future of the club.
