Douglas Park group urges Rangers fans to use postal and proxy votes at EGM

Date: 11th February 2015

Ibrox Stadium

With the Rangers EGM only a matter of weeks away, one of the club’s largest shareholders has urged fans to utilise postal and proxy votes to ensure that they have their voices heard at the meeting in London on March 4th.

Douglas Park, George Letham and George Taylor, who act as a consortium, intend to vote in favour of the changes suggested by fellow shareholder Dave King. The group say postal votes and proxies may be “the best way for shareholders to have their voices heard”. Park, Letham and Taylor own 20% of Rangers International Football Club shares, while King owns around 14%.

King is seeking to remove chief executive Derek Llambias, finance director Barry Leach, James Easdale and chairman David Somers from the board and to appoint himself, Paul Murray and John Gilligan as directors.

Rangers have insisted that the meeting will be held in London, although not at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel as first planned, after the hotel withdrew from hosting.
