We’re delighted for our members the Airdrieonians Supporters’ Trust who have struck an agreement with the club that will see a fan representative on the board from the beginning of next season.
It is the latest of a series of moves which see the club and Trust working closely together, and builds on the unique sponsorship deal agreed earlier in the season.
Both parties are currently working together with Supporters Direct to create terms of reference for a new operational board, which will oversee the day-to-day running of the League One team. The plan is that a fan will play a pivotal role on this board, helping to articulate the views of the fanbase and galvanise a support and energy that will improve the matchday experience and help to develop the club.
The news comes in the same week the club announced they, with a number of partners including the Supporters Trust, are to become the first football club in Scotland with a sensory room at home games, allowing children with Sensory Process Disorders such as autism to attend matches in comfort.
We congratulate the Trust and club on the hugely beneficial relationship they’ve developed which demonstrates the value of collaboration between supporters and clubs.
