Colours of our Scarves – Dumbarton FC

Date: 2nd March 2015

Supporters Direct Scotland was at Dumbarton Football Stadium on Saturday for the latest Colours of our Scarves exhibition. Colours of our Scarves is a government-funded programme that seeks to engage with fans across Scotland on their perceptions of sectarianism in their local community.

As part of the programme, Supporters Direct Scotland have been visiting SPFL grounds up and down the country with our photographic exhibition, promoting the belief that it is only the colours we wear that make us different. Participants are surveyed on their own personal beliefs regarding intolerance in their local area and how they suggest any issues can be tackled.

Dumbarton FC were the very welcoming guests on Saturday for their home match against Queen of the South. The Colours of our Scarves exhibition was set up in the club’s Community Suite allowing supporters to view the Stuart Roy Clarke’s images before they took in the SPFL Championship clash. The Sons Trust was also on hand to lend their help and discuss the programme, as well as point out some familiar faces in the Dumbarton images included in the exhibition. Most prominently featured was Allan Clarke, pictured below with a framed photo given to the club for their participation in the programme.

Supporters Direct Scotland would like to extend their thanks to Dumbarton FC and the Sons Trust for their help and hospitality on Saturday and for the coverage on their digital media channels.

The Colours of our Scarves exhibition will next be at Greenock Morton this Saturday, March 7th. For more details on the programme, please visit
