Hosted by Supporters Direct Scotland
Date: 13th October 2014
Supporters Direct Scotland (SDS) made the short trip to Airdrie on Saturday for the latest leg in our Colours of our Scarves project. Brechin City were the visitors to Excelsior Stadium in the League One match at the weekend and SDS were there to talk to supporters about the anti-sectarian programme and the general work of the organisation.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Airdrie Trust who provided a handful of volunteers to help in surveying supporters on issues regarding sectarian and discriminatory behaviour in the local community – both past and present. We had an overwhelmingly positive response to the exhibition and were interested to hear peoples’ stories about their attitudes towards sectarianism and how they think it should be tackled.
As part of the Colours of our Scarves project, SDS will be visiting every Scottish league club stadium before the end of the 2014/15 season, with our photographic exhibition by world-famous football photographer Stuart Roy Clarke being displayed at every ground we visit. The images aim to show the shared passion and emotions that football fans go through, regardless of their footballing allegiance.
