Date: 15th December 2014
Last week, Celtic FC announced that they would offer free match tickets for unemployed fans for their league match against Ross County on Saturday, 27th December.
The festive gesture from the Scottish champions is a ‘commitment to stay true to the founding principles of the club by helping those less fortunate and remain a Club open to all’. The official club website notes that this offer is part of Celtic’s work to improve fan engagement, which has been a key focus over the last year.
Supporters Direct Scotland welcome this generous and creative initiative from Celtic and hope that other clubs can work towards making attending matches more affordable for all – allowing as many fans aspossible to watch their team this Christmas season.
