Date: 11th December 2013
Having donated to the ‘Save the Pars’ campaign earlier this year, and subsequently becoming a member of the Pars Supporters’ Trust, Barbara Dickson has finally been able to fit a benefit concert in to her hectic schedule for Pars United. The concert will be held at the Alhambra Theatre in her native Dunfermline on 7th March , 2014 with with tickets priced at just £20 (plus booking fee).
It was whilst appearing on the Tam Cowan/Stuart Cosgrove Radio Scotland football show ‘Off the Ball’ that Barbara first announced she would be happy to help out in any way she could, to raise funds for her hometown club. A spokesman for Pars United said “This is sure to be a popular event featuring one of Scotland’s finest female vocalists. It will give not only her fans but fans of the football club as well, the opportunity to see Barbara perform in her hometown knowing that the proceeds will be helping our Club”.
Since hearing of her offer to help out, the Pars Supporters’ Trust has been busy arranging the concert. Drew Main, Vice-Chair of the Trust said “We met Barbara in October to present her with her membership certificate of the PST and she was clearly keen to do more to help us so it’s fantastic that we’ve been able to bring this show together with the help of our friends at the Alhambra”.
This will be Barbara Dickson’s first appearance in Dunfermline since 2010 and follows her highly successful 25 date UK tour in October/November which included a sell out performance at Rothes Halls in Glenrothes.
Tickets for the concert are on sale now from the Alhambra box office or online via Ticketmaster.
