Lachlan Cameron, Ayr United FC Chairman and majority shareholder, has asked the Working Group, which has been formed to investigate the prospect of a community ownership model for the Club, to defer its public launch.
The purpose of the launch was to encourage and assess the interest of fans and others in the local community, by issuing an Information Pack which features a brochure and widely framed Questions and Answers document and inviting Registrations of Interest.
Lachlan said:
“We have agreed that the new launch date will be mid-June to coincide with the issue of the 2014/2015 season tickets. A selected group of the AUFC board has been closely involved with the process and support the principles involved; but I would like a little more time to consider the issues and take advice before a PR release. This will ensure that I am happy that the proposed model will be in the best long term interest of Ayr United.
We have agreed that a new launch date is tentatively scheduled to coincide with the issue of the 2014/15 season tickets in mid-June barring any new developments”
